Sopracornola e Rigolgrosso sono completamente immerse nei boschi della Valle San Martino, vorrei pertanto evidenziare i comunicati apparsi sui siti della Comunità Montana Lario Orientale Valle San Martino e della Protezione Civile della Regione Lombardia, dove si dichiara che a partire dal giorno 11 FEBBRAIO 2011 e sino a revoca è disposto lo stato di GRAVE PERICOLO PER GLI INCENDI FOREST, and shall apply the rules concerning the protection of forests from fire, referred to in Articles 4 and 7 of L.353/2000 and art.45 of c.4/61/9 L.31/2008.
Therefore it is absolutely forbidden to light fires outdoors in the woods and away from these less than 100 meters without exception.
The periods of maximum danger of fire "decreed by the Lombardy Region are usually from February to May, during which the vegetation has dried up by winter and the fire risk is higher especially in windy conditions and low relative humidity, dry fuels on the ground.
Sopracornola A total precipitation in the last months of Oct / Nov and December 2010 were respectively equal to 232/300 and 134 mm .. In the early months of 2011 fell only 50 mm. of rain in January, 66 mm. in February and 6 mm. in early March (data gathered from MeteoSopracornola ).
